Hello Yellow at IS Siena - written by G.7 class

 The day is yellow!

Today we all wore yellow to raise money for mental health. People were wearing yellow shirts, shoes, caps, and face-paint.  We had been writing up posters with motivational quotes about mental health and feeling good. We also watched a video about mental health and how to have good mental health. We learned that mental health includes emotions that we can't always control and that doing activities like sport and playing with pets can help.

In period 7, instead of doing PSHE, we went out to our green space to celebrate Hello Yellow. The whole school (from Transition to D.P) went to the green area to support mental health. We celebrated by doing chants led by the teachers, like "Hello - yellow!" and "I - matter; You - matter; We - matter!" One of the grade 11 students (Matteo S) brought his drone and took some pictures and video of the whole school.  The shape we made with our bodies was a happy face. When they took the photos of us we were all smiling. We played music and danced and sang to the music. We all felt very happy because we were all together.
