It’s Assessment Time!

Assessments - Alex Convertiti-Mann
Do you like studying? Because you better start liking it. This month we have done many assessments and maybe there are even more like this week we are doing the IND.&SOC. summative assessment which we need to study a lot. Next week there is the math summative assessment which for me is very easy because I am very good at math and this week we are going to do a summative assessment which is a poster about a book.

Test taking - Ambra Cisek

This is my experience in taking tests. For maths, we either go through the answers or we go through each question and do the method. We split up in tables and we each get the same test. We are not allowed to use calculators but we can have our multiplication tables next to us if we need them. We’re not allowed to talk to each other because if someone just shouts out the answer, then everyone would know.

For spelling tests, we get homework to study ten words and then on Friday we have the test and the teacher says a sentence with a spelling word in it, we have to write the whole sentence and underline the spelling word within that sentence. I’m a little stressed when I do it but also relaxed.

For Italian tests we just have to write about a subject in Italian or the teacher reads something out and we have to write it. It’s a dictation. It’s also stressful because I’m not that good and I want to do well.

G5 and G4 have trip on the same day! By Ambra Cisek

G5!

Grade 5 go to Florence to the Galileo Galilei museum.
We went by bus to Florence and then walked all the way to the museum.
We looked at loads of interesting objects such as Galileo’s only two telescopes and Galileo’s real middle finger of his right hand!
We had lunch in front of the Uffizi Gallery and there was a person painting with coffee! There also was a workshop and we had to put together a telescope. At the end, it was a great success and we all had fun!

G4!

Grade 4  went to Modena to participate in the sport competition (G9 also went to Modena). The trip was 2 hours and 12 minutes. They did football, handball and basket. They ate snack at a park. Modena won but they got 2nd place. It was a lot of fun but it was a little unfair because they always played against older kids. There was music playing and they played while they were waiting for there team to be called. Overall, it was also a success!

James Lawson comes to a drama class at the International School of Siena by Alex Convertiti-Mann

On Tuesday 7 of November James Lawson came to the grade 7 drama class to teach us how to act and let us do many interesting games: Varumpa and Mirrors. In Varumpa we needed to pretend to hold a heavy object and when we threw it we needed to say “Va Rum Pa!” In mirrors we needed to imitate the other student. James Lawson lives in NewYork and came here because his friend lives here but his dog can’t go on the plane so the friend wanted James to stay in Italywith his dog. James Lawson is a playwrite and likes the theater.
