Pietro Debolini: Our New Tutor by Marco Tullio di Meco and Leo Soderi

Pietro Debolini in grade 10 has kindly welcomed anyone who would be interested in getting tutor in the MYP, ranging from gr 7-10. He does this for his personal project to help educate other students in the ISS who might need additional help with their studies, it might come in handy for summative assessments or homework.

Speaking from experience, Pietro offers very helpful tips on how to do your homework, he can also help you to organize your homework throughout the week which is one of our ATL skills; Self and Time-management. He is very prepared, knows his stuff and can help you with pretty much any subject, he has also had experience on some tests like Terza Media which covers a vast number of subjects.

Some of his past students say that he is very efficient and clear with them and is very helpful with subjects like math or science and that his way of teaching is exceptional and feels as if it were a real teacher tutor.

He is available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday in the morning break, but always check his availability. For further information, contact him.

Celebrating Successful students

 Horse riding

Sisters Federica and Elisabetta Uematsu have been horse riding for years.
They are both very successful riders.

Federica

Federica has been riding for almost 8 years.
She has just finished a test in her case called a "brevetto". There are multiple tests. One is riding and two are practical. For the first practical one is about how you connect with the horse and experience,

posture and how you use the horse. The second practical one is horse games and the knowledge with games. You also have horse groups who would practice with her. She rides mainly three times a week for 2 hours. She practices Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. She would have to practice more but due to school she can’t. Federica rides because she had a passion for animals and riding is the closest sport to animals.

Elisabetta

Elisabetta is Federica’s sister and has been riding for almost 4 years.
She rides because when she was little she saw her sister ride. She also trains 4 times a week. She started at 5 years old so she is 9 now.

Grade Tens Collect Donations

Collecting Donations for Casa Delle Case

As part of the community project and service, us, grade 10 students, Bodhi, Micol and Elga,  are organizing for next week to collect many different toys/books/ utensils and sanitary products that can be useful for “case famiglie” and caritas organizations. Similarly, to what was done with the clothing boxes, we are going to have different boxes which will be labelled with the different categories. The boxes will be there by  Monday the 11th at 8:30 until Friday December 15th at 4 pm and you or your children will be able to bring in the certain items throughout the day. We are donating to the local Caritas and also to the organization CASA DELLE CASE in Rome which aims to deliver help and refuge to families, especially women and children in need of support. Every one of our donation will help sustain the activities carried out by these two organizations.  Most importantly, for this Christmas our donations will secure gifts ( and smiles)  to everyone who cannot afford it and is not as lucky as we are.

Thank you in advance,

Elga, Bodhi and Micol
