No Uniform Day in MYP by Ambra Cisek

No uniform  day will be on the 1st of March at the International School of Siena. It is only for MYP and each student has to bring 1 euro to donate to the animal shelter to make people aware of homeless animals such as dogs and cats. The animal shelter is called Amici Miei Siena. The people who want to participate can come with regular clothes if they bring money otherwise they come with their uniform.

We use emotions in our every day life. You are always feeling some emotions even if you don't feel them

These are some emotions:Joy,sadness, anger,disgust and fear.

New update of emotions in the next film Inside Out 2 which will come out in June 2024. There are new feelings: Anxiety and love.

 

Grade 3 Discovers Da Vinci! by Maddly Lenne

On the 22nd of February,  Grade  3 had a great time in Vinci at the Leonardo da Vinci museum. 

The class went because our unit of inquiry was: Invention and Innovation and Leonarda daVinci invented a lot of things, for example, wings! But one of his students tried them and died. 

First we did a workshop and we made some things out of wood, like a vice. Next we ate sandwiches 🥪 and also played. After that we went see the shops. Then  the lady came to take us on the tour. We visited the whole castle. Finally, we went to the shop and we bought a lot of things.

Fortnite Battle Royale Tips! By George

 Fortnite is not an easy game to play. It requires a lot of skill and a good computer for it to run properly without you experiencing lag. Some tricks to help you win many battles are:

Finding the best landing spots - some landing spots have good gear and materials that will help you in the game

Learning how to build - building is very useful as it allows you to escape deadly shots from enemies 

Keeping diverse weapons in your inventory - if you have a long range weapon in your inventory, a short ranged one would help a lot because you can aim better when someone is close to you.

Homework is too hard!!!!!! - by Ambra Cisek

 For me, homework is too hard. We have to read long articles and answer hard questions related to the article and there are 10 - 20 questions. I have to spend hours on answering 10 questions. We have Friday to Friday to do a lot of homework. For maths sometimes we have pages to do in a maths book or we have to do some maths on our iPads. Also 

10 - 20 pages to do in the book but sometimes we just have to finish the book from where we have to continue, to the end of the book. For spelling, we have 10 spelling words and we have to answer 10 questions, each one with 1 spelling word. Then we have to write all the spelling words in alphabetical order and for optional work we can make a crossword with our spelling words or make a word art with our spelling words in it. I think this is to much.

PYP student council👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓👨‍🎓

 I am not in the PYP student council but I do know a few things about what they do in student council🤔.

Student council is not about the teachers making decisions, it’s about the students making decisions to help make the school better for the students👩‍🎓 and sometimes a bit for the teachers too👨‍🏫!!!

Something that makes student council better is that that the students in student council can also report what their classmates may have not liked.

Student council does not just sit around and talk, they do big things like start competitions and school events and even mite be able to change the snacks and lunches in PYP🍕🍝🍔!!!

I hope that this will make the people that don’t want to be in student council give it a try!😊

MYP Carnevale & ski week are coming up! By George

 

We are happy to say that the MYP Carnevale is coming up on Friday 9th. There will be many fun activities that will be hosted by Student council, such as balloon pop, chocolate island and step in the dark. They will be described further when the activities take place. 

Ski week is for all the school and we will be off school after Friday 9th all the way until Monday 19th. We wish you a great holiday and we will see you on Monday!

Carnival by Giulia Michelucci

 Hi im Giulia and today im gonna talk about carnival,so grade 2/3 are doing a dance then grade 4 are doing some riddles,grade 5 are doing a little dance and grade 6 surprise !!!                                                                   This year we need to be eco-frienly so if you have a costume a  part  a of recycle materials if you want .         It can be averything it can be an angel or a princesse ,dinasaur,or a ghost.

Fortnite is a game that was created in 2011and released in 2017, Fortnite is a very good game that many people play. In Fortnite you can buy different skins, in Fortnite if you have a Fortnite skins maybe there are different types of them and you can change them. You can change the color of the weapons, the main game of Fortnite is battle royale but there are many other games that people create, you can create a game too like P.V.P. Box Fights where you are in a big box and you need to eliminate others by shooting them with a weapon. Fortnite is an online game where you can play with your friends by creating a party which is a group. Fortnite has very good graphics and sounds, it doesn't have blood.

 I like coming to school because teaching kids and making them happy is my goal. I come from Iran my first language is Persian and I have many good friends from all over the world. Shopping makes me happy.I enjoy decorating my house.

G4 went to a museum!!!😃by Giulia M😸 and GIULIA F🥸

 

Grade 4 went to a museum/university to learn more about hearts.

We went on 24th of January at 9:00 am. We were back at the PYP lunch time and that was good because we weren’t allowed to eat the whole trip except for a one time for a few minutes.The museum was not very big and there were also a few students studying so we had to be quiet.When we got to a room where we put down our  stuff there were skulls on the wall and one had its mouth open 😬! We looked at microscopes and we looked at blood  up close 😛we saw an aorta of a rabbit and it looked so creepy. We went to a place that was actually the wrong place so we went back to the bus stop and played at a park while we waited for the bus🚍🛝.

There is news about music in the International School of Siena!

There is a project going on: we are going to record a song called "Beautiful Noise".

 G5, G6 and G10 and above, are welcome to be recorded. Ms. King and Mrs. Hendry say that this is is a project which will give our students a unique opportunity to work together and showcase their artistic talents. They are also asking that DP students volunteer their harmonizing and solo skills. The first rehearsal is in the music room during morning break Friday 02 February
