Kindness Rocks Project of Grade 8 by Carlo Alberto di Meco

Kindness Rocks project of grade 8

The kindness rocks project are painted rocks with supporting messages or designs that are left in places where lots of people go to find and enjoy the reading. The goal is to spread kindness and happiness through the community. This amazing invention took place in 2015 by Megan Murphy, and has now began to spread around the world. Megan invented this idea after experiencing the loss of her parents. She created this because she realized how small acts of kindness could change the feelings of someone. This activity could be done by every aged person and can be read by everyone.

The grade 8 students have participated in this project as part of their Service as Action. We coloured the rocks and wrote lovely messages on them, for example "If you're kind and polite, the world will be right." Then we took the rocks and left them outside in public places or gardens. This activity was very fun and entertaining. It is also an easy and fast way to make a positive difference to the community. We are excited to see how this turns out and we look forward to doing even more through the year.

How did we create this project?

Creating this project is pretty easy:

step 1 - Find some medium sized rocks, possibly flat so you could write there easily.

step 2 - Colour the whole rock

step 3 - write a message on it and leave it in a park or place were a lot of people go
